Caught part of an interesting radio essay on NPR’s Fresh Air this morning. Ed Ward, a Rock N Roll historian, reviewed a new collection of old Chuck Berry recordings from the 50s. Twas great to hear another side of his music. Blues and old-time Rock, rather than the Pop Rock he was famous for.

Here’s a link for the review. I think in light of current events, we all could use a bit of Rock and Roll for the soul, for the heart, for our dancing little feet.

Fresh Air has been on a roll, lately! Caught a good interview with Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova of Once fame, yesterday. Their music, their harmonies are stunning. As was the movie, “Once.” Glen’s story mirrors much of the movie’s, so he really didn’t have to act much. At least that’s what he says in the interview. Though my guess is, he’s being modest … Great film. Great music.
Rock and Roll lives!!!
