You are welcome, Lori. :)

True, the theatrical release is the film we get. However, with the advent of Netflix and other services, many of us watch a movie for the first time on DVD, not in the theater. That can change the dynamic. We want more. We're used to getting behind the scenes looks, interviews with cast and crew, deleted scenes, etc.

Another movie I could have mentioned that was improved by the "director's cut" was Kingdom of Heaven. Again, pretty long already in the theater, so they didn't want to push it. But the added scenes, IMO, made it a much stronger movie.

More reviews in the future . . .
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('344','Cuchulain','You are welcome, Lori. :)\n\nTrue, the theatrical release is the film we get.
Thanks for the review! The older I get the more affinity I have for those westerns... especially the ones with Clint Eastwood.

Your write up has inspired me to put Appaloosa on the list of DVDs worth renting. Thank you for your words and insight.

One thought: I appreciate the thoughts of the film editors when it comes time to cut pieces and add others. The story as they put it on the screen is the one that I base my likes or dislikes on, not the story that got away. As interesting as the outtakes can be, they are not what I concern myself with when watching... it is what it is....

Just my thoughts. More DVD reviews, please!!!1
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('343','Lori','Thanks for the review!
