Hey, John. Can't help it. I really like the movies. There is something very appealing about the assemble cast, the fact they've stayed together for most of the films. I like the friendship angle between Hermoine, Ron and Harry. And the visuals are excellent. It has its flaws, but it's very good fantasy, IMO.

I like the Narnia pictures, too.

As for the books. I never read much children's literature when I was young. Read mostly classic mythology instead. But going back as an adult to read some has been interesting. I especially like the Philip Pullman His Dark Materials series, and really liked the first movie. I hope they complete the series, but there seems to be a holdup of some sort.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('523','Cuchulain','Hey, John.
I have never understood the attraction of the whole Harry Potter thing.I never made it halfway through the first book and I've watched some of the movies all the way through with friends and their kids and some a little before turning off.Maybe they work as Children's Fantasy but to me they don't come close to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The movies seem to jump all over the place and while the visuals are fine the story line is disjointed.I was much more impressed with the Narnia films which had a coherent story line.
<a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('522','John A.
